went to so many performance in ukm, organize by chinese or not, usually i’ll support any student activities in ukm, mostly when they are using our "sacred" dectar. as we all know, applying for using dectar as vanue of performance/activity is a very freaking frustrating and difficult thing, usually ppl will do their best when they perform at dectar (sort of..). well, but that does not mean that every activity that run at dectar are great, impressive.
due to i’m a very "8" ppl, for the past 3 years i attended countless performances, as spectator or photographer. well, until yesterday, i found out that "malam kesenian ukm 2008" organised by perkeb is surprisinging good! their performance may no the best, or may not be the most thrilling masterpiece, but the way they perform and their creativity does impress me a lot. from singing, dancing to the drama (one of the best i’ve watch), especially the drama, will put many so called "traditional giant" societies that so often organise such activies in a year and claim their drama is "masterpiece" in to ashamed.
the drama, it’s educational, funny with the cheeky dialougue, perfectly matched with the use of multimedia show and live performance, fully string up the audience with joy and sadness. i’m totally stunned by their dynamic in the drama, their creativity, most importantly, i enjoy a lot. as photographer at that day, i usually get the best "seat" in the house because i can walk close up to the stage and try to get a great photos, i can feel that they put a lot of effort into making this activity a successful 1, i felt their dedication and effort in this activity, maybe this will put plenty ppl that claim they are members of whatever societies into shame, again.
maybe i’m biased, because i was hoping to attend a great "art and cultural" performance(combination of music, dance, drama…etc…) in ukm for 3 years, i think that this 1 would be 1 of the best, besides ntlp and traditional orchestra’s performance last year..i’m not impress at all with performance that only have single program such as drama, because it will back fire you anytime if you can not plan the flow of story well and if your presentation is not impressive enough. in what position i’m saying this? just merely spectator, performer for 4 years, a backstage staff with 5 years of experience, and a student who used to organise a lot of student activities in secondary school, university, even events..
i hope what happen last night can be a good platform of example to many "giants" in ukm to make good, creative activities in future. for ppl who didnt attend this show, it’s quite a pity.
